For the sixth consecutive year, Indian students are highest among the International students, enrolled for Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degree programs in the United States of America. Since 2005-06, and with an increase of 9.6 percent, 83,833 students from India have landed in US to pursue higher studies of which 70 percent of the students headed for their masters and doctoral programs. Over 12,500 students have enrolled for Bachelors program.

Now, the International students are not restricted to just Bachelors or Masters programs, there is significant rise for non-degree and short-term program & Executive programs as well. 63 percent of international students have funded their own education despite financial assistance and over 43 percent of international student comprises from the countries such as India, Japan, South Korea and China.[b]
