An internal info!!!!NASSCOM requests NITs to delay placements.

NASSCOM has recently requested the NITs to start placements in 8th sems as early placements effect academics and decrease joining certainty.as companies have to make advance forecasts.

8th sem is far too late.....it will mean a lot of anxiety for the students .end of 7th sem sounds fine.I Acknowledge that due to advance placements many offer commitments are not fulfilled by recruiters.Therefore it is better we have it towards the end of seventh semester.The requirement forecasts will at least be more reliable.

Well the reasons behind this venture seems to be trivial. Students not attending classes, becoming over confident after placements and competition between colleges to call companies very early. But there are quite a number of ways to make these right. Especially at this time of crisis, such an act might severely affect some institutes. After all placement is the main expectation of a b.tech graduate from a reputed college.

hey dis is freaky...we cant wait till 8th sem to get placed ...wat if entire requirement is exhausted by other colleges b4 our plcements actually begins.

Thats not possible... If some kind of an order is gonna be issued it is very likely to apply to all AICTE approved colleges. So I dont think there will be any advantage for other colleges also. Maybe there may happen some real competition for dates.
