What is Biometric data and why it is required for Visa authentication?
Biometrics is the science and technology of measuring and analyzing biological data of human body characteristics such as voice patterns, finger prints, irises and eye retinas etc., for authentication purpose. The biometric data is required for all the applicants applying for UK visa, which is part of the Five Year Strategy of UK Government to manage immigration and asylum in United Kingdom. As a part of visa application procedure, the biometric data is collected in over 100 countries. The prospective program would be global in mid 2008 and roll in around 135 countries.
